About the Finsler semi-Riemannian question: right now I am fiddling with trying to show that $\mathbb S^2$ does not possess a signature $(+,-)$ metric, by elementary methods. I think it would lead to a line field, which I then think ought to be impossible, although at the moment I am only sure about vector fields by Brouwer. | |
