Apr 18, 2018 at 4:29 comment added Connor Mooney If a $C^2$ function $\varphi$ touches $u$ from above at $x$ and $\Delta \varphi(x) < 0$, then for $r$ small the average of $\varphi$ on $\partial B_r(x)$ (hence the average of $u$) is strictly smaller than $u(x)$, a contradiction.
