The Connelly paper is primarily focused on tensegrities, but the Whiteley paper, "Rigidty and polarity," is quite apropos (at least from the abstract and the first page accessible without purchase). In fact, Whiteley's Fig.1 coincides with my drawing. He calls it the smallest stable or rigid configuration. | |
