Feb 14, 2018 at 13:19 comment added Federico Poloni Almost identical, but for positive definite $A$: mathoverflow.net/questions/288443/…. I suppose a similar idea works, assuming $rk(A) \geq rk(B)$ (otherwise clearly there is no solution).
