If we take the wide ring class field then it only tells us for which primes $p$ either $p$ or $-p$ is represented by the given form. On the side of forms the narrow class group of the given order corresponds to the proper equivalence of forms while the wide class group corresponds to the signed equivalence. This is explained at the end of section 7.B. | |
