May 31, 2023 at 22:00 comment added John Baez Few people outside pure math applied category theory back in 2019, but that's changing fast. Nowadays we're using it to improve modeling techniques in epidemiology, and this is just one of a host of possible applications - it just happens that an expert in epidemiology knew some category theory and was frustrated with the existing sofware for modeling. There are some papers and a (very gentle introductory) talk here: math.ucr.edu/home/baez/epidemiology_african

Jan 4, 2018 at 4:53 comment added Derek Elkins left SE @SebastianBechtel There are definitely non-trivial links to differential geometry and mathematical physics. I'm not so aware of links to analysis though, but it is not really an area I've spent much time in. Some of the theory of coinduction may be relevant though.
Dec 31, 2017 at 11:26 comment added Sebastian Bechtel I am curious what has been done regarding the fourth item in MacLanes list. I am coming from mathematical analysis and my impression is that CT is more or less non existent there.
