While I have been well-aware of Ulam's works in set theory and physics (particularly the development of Teller–Ulam design of thermonuclear weapons), I didn't know anything about Ulam's personal view towards possible applications of set theory in physics. Though, in the view of military projects that Ulam had been involved in, one may speculate on the peaceful nature of the applications that he had in mind.Who knows? Maybe he was desiring to design an $\omega$-megaton nuclear weapon, an Omega-Bomb! :-| | |
