Jun 8, 2010 at 8:37 comment added jeremy I think this is going too far--one can definitely test if a particular system is well-described by a particular set of axioms. One could even imagine there could be a system where you can "exactly" test them. This certainly counts as "empirically testing" but my contention is that there is not an well-defined/objective (i.e., 'experiment independent') notion of this.
