A zero-knowledge proof is a way of demonstrating knowledge of a fact without revealing the fact; your proposed mechanism relies precisely on revealing the fact (the amount deposited). Also, it's not clear how it protects the bounty hunter from the company's possible refusal to pay after disclosure. | |
