Apr 20, 2017 at 23:17 comment added Gerry Myerson Many people have suggested that the ancient Greeks made a mistake when they identified $\pi$ as a fundamental constant; they should have chosen $2\pi$ instead. Had they only known about the zeta-function, perhaps they would have chosen $\sqrt\pi$.
