May 26, 2010 at 0:10 comment added Emerton Even in commutative Iwasawa theory, the non-ordinary case (and/or the singular reduction case) are much harder/different to the ordinary case. So (and I write this not knowing much about the specifics of C-F-K-S-V) it doesn't surprise me that a similar thing happens in the non-commutative setting.
