Previous version said the D6 was SO, but in fact it is a half-spin group. This correction does not alter the rest of the answer

In case you read my question again, you will notice that i was under the assumption that a there has to be some quadratic form p, whose splitting pattern is reflected in the possible "patterns" of Tits-Indexes. Your second last sentence does additionally clean my confusion. Passing to k(SB(A)) splits A (of course), but doesnt effect the anisotropic kernel of G. | |
