Oct 19, 2015 at 3:31 comment added Gerry Myerson A big chunk of analytic number theory is concerned with using complex analytic techniques (on the Riemann zeta function and/or on $L$-functions) to get bounds on the number of primes and on other quantities of number-theoretical interest. Another big chunk uses the Hardy-Littlewood Circle Method to get other bounds. Take your pick from the dozens of papers on offer!
