Aug 19, 2014 at 15:42 comment added Włodzimierz Holsztyński An associattion. In the early days of Internet I have posted my original proof of the Euclid theorem of the infinitude of primes. On each of the mentioned fora people immediately reacted that my proof was not new. Each time it turned out that they vaguely recalled the proof which shows that Fermat numbers $2^{2^n}+1$ are relatively prime while my proof was based on Mersenne primes--an essentially different type of an argument.
