In his book "metric structures for riemannian and non-riemannian spaces" , page 97, he does comment on the construction of asymptotic cones using nonprincipal ultrafilters, and cites the paper by van den Dries and Wilkie from 1984. In a recent interview, he praised their work more explicitly, but still without mentioning nonstandard analysis. | |
