Jan 7, 2011 at 8:36 comment added Andrew Stacey Peter (not that I expect you to see this): good idea. (Note that tex.SX wasn't even in existence when I wrote this!). (I'm also very disappointed no-one's commented on my "Vimers need escape more than they need control" joke.)

Added link to a question on tex.SX
Jan 7, 2011 at 4:34 comment added Peter McNamara I think that you should include a link here so that people can find your tex.stackexchange answer tex.stackexchange.com/questions/1979/… I certainly found the information placed there to be useful.

Feb 17, 2010 at 21:36 comment added Andrew Stacey @J. Polak: that's part of my standard keyboard remap. The mucking around with backslashes is only in effect when I'm typing LaTeX documents. Being an Emacs junkie, I map CapsLock to Control but I can understand that if you are a vimer then you need escape more than you need control.
Feb 17, 2010 at 21:26 comment added user1437 Don't forget the CAPS lock key, which is pretty much useless. If you're using Vim, you can remap it to Escape for quicker mode-changes.
Feb 17, 2010 at 20:54 comment added Andrew Stacey @Jose: Absolutely correct; my quick-and-dirty hack to print the number of characters got mangled by my shell and I didn't notice that there were 23760 spaces. However, that number should be viewed with caution as a fair few of those will have been added by the automatic indentation.
Feb 17, 2010 at 20:52 comment added Andrew Stacey Really? The French use '! 1' instead of '1 !' (and so on)? I didn't know that.
Feb 17, 2010 at 20:51 comment added José Figueroa-O'Farrill More t's than spaces?! (Or are you just listing non-space chars?) Indeed, keyboard remapping is possible on any keyboard. In my answer I was thinking about keyboards such as the one by Art Lebedev with OLEDs on the keys :) artlebedev.com/everything/optimus
Feb 17, 2010 at 19:49 comment added Mariano Suárez-Álvarez You could use a French layout, which is pretty close to that :P
