In contrast to other proofs, the $u$ you have given yields an automorphism of $A$ which exchanges $p$ and $q$ (rather than just taking one to the other) which is exactly what I came here looking for. It also has the continuity and functorial properties of other constructions, so I wonder why this isn't standard? | |
