Nov 2, 2013 at 18:34 comment added alvarezpaiva The most pleasant definition of a Berwald metric is a Finsler metric whose parameterized geodesics are the geodesics of some affine connection. If you take this as a definition, then the fact you cite as well-known is a tautology.
