There is a good reason I went against the opinions of the 12 up-voters and downvoted this question.

Aug 25, 2013 at 20:56 comment added Joseph Van Name -1. When discussing rings of continuous functions, it is a standard convention to restrict one's self to Tychonoff spaces in order to avoid trivialities like this one.
