An alternative argument is to observe that $H$ embeds in a suitable nonprincipal ultraproduct of the $G(\overline{\mathbf{F}_p})$, which is $G$ of the same ultraproduct of the $\overline{\mathbf{F}_p}$, which is, by a cardinality argument, isomorphic to $\mathbf{C}$.
