About

I am a PhD student in the Mathematics Department at FCUL (Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon).

My advisor is professor Carlos A. M. André, who is best known for laying the foundational ideas which lead to the notion of supercharacter theory for finite groups, as popularized by the work of P. Diaconis and I. M. Isaacs.

My research subject focuses on developing a notion of super-representation for algebra groups over a non-Archimedean local field, in analogy with supercharacters of algebra groups over a finite field.

My background is in ordinary representation theory and character theory of finite groups. My master's thesis focused on the study and improvement of a technical condition related to the construction of generalized Gelfand-Graev characters of the finite general linear groups, and also attempted to interpret these characters as inductions of supercharacters from the unitriangular subgroups.
