how to visualize the class number of an imaginary quadratic field? This doesn't quite "visualize the class number", but you can at least visualize when the division algorithm fails when the fundamental rectangle is too large. |

Computing certain class numbers modulo 4 On a side note, I think it's better to think of this as a statement about the 2-divisibility of the class number than it is to think about it as the value of the class number mod 4. |
