comment A question from Otto Forster’s book on Riemann surfaces
It can also be fixed by enclosing a few of the pieces of MathJax with backticks, e.g. `(dollar sign)...(dollar sign)`, but since this hack will not work on the Stack Exchange network, I'm hesitant to add to what is already a daunting problem (given how commonly this has been used in the past on MO). See here for an example of how math inside backticks appears on the SE network: math.stackexchange.com/questions/354677/…

Any particular reason you put [closed] at the end of your own question? I'm guessing you thought people wouldn't look at it then, and it'd stay open? (See meta.mathoverflow.net/discussion/1543)

This is an exact duplicate of a question on math.SE, that has an accepted answer: math.stackexchange.com/q/313346/264 Therefore, I'd recommend closing the question (unless anyone has something to add). Presumably it was posted here by the same person going under the name "MathGeek" after their question here: math.stackexchange.com/q/314115/264 was closed.

comment Can one exhibit an explicit Kuratowski infinite set without invoking Replacement?
When there's trouble with MathJax on MO, two good things to try are enclosing MathJax in backticks (i.e. `), and adding extra backslashes, e.g. \\{ \\}. Keep in mind that any MathJax needs to be enclosed in $ $, $$ $$, \( \), or \[ \], and that (as in LaTeX itself) these are for math commands only, so e.g. you can't use \begin{tabular} ..., only \begin{array}....

Sorry if I stepped on anyone else's edits, but I wanted to help out and fix the LaTeX. Adam, you need to use markdown formatting ( stackoverflow.com/editing-help ) to do things with text, only a limited set of LaTeX commands are available in MathJax ( mathjax.org ).
