Ph.D. from Notre Dame, IN (U.S.A.) in 1990. Topic: representation theory of algebraic groups. I have since returned to my undergraduate university in Turku, Finland, and my research has shifted to what could be called applications of algebra into telecommunications (mostly finite fields, coding theory, modulation and such). I have three graduate students who have earned their PhDs.
