I did a PhD in analysis (1991) under Dan Voiculescu. My work is now related to computational mathematics: Monte Carlo simulations of error-correcting codes over noisy channels. I keep an interest in computational mathematics, including PARI-gp and the MPFR library. {added October 18 2012:::} I have used the newsgroup sci.math since the early 1990's to considerable profit. I am very green as MathOverflow goes. For one thing, I'm still searching how to add comments [not answers] ; also, quite unfamiliar with Math Syntax. {added October 18, 2012}
