Research interests focus mainly on algebra, geometric group theory, semigroup theory and computation. I also maintain interests in fractal geometry and the theory of formal languages.

In my spare time, I play a lot of music. I play bass and guitar in a jazz band, a blues band and a progressive electronic act associated mainly with drum-and-bass.
