Divergent series, anyone? It was devil's work, just a curiosity, unorthodox idea for Euler and a strange , useless concept for Euler, Abel, Ramanujan..Ramanujan (Abel claiming that it can't and mustn't be used for serious calculations)... but today, we use it for "real" things. |
