Consider a function f that can be approximated by an infinite sum of Bernstein polynomial. If now I add the function to the Bernstein basis B to form the new basis (f,B) is it true that the new basis has the same expressiveness of the the Bernstein basis or, conversely, it is more powerful?

"approximated": in what sense? also note that a partial sum of a series of Bernstein polynomials is just a polynomial. – Pietro Majer Jun 9 at 17:24
