I am studying grade 11 university math in Canada(functions), and I am not doing so well. I hope to pursue a degree and career in science which I am good at (Biology and chemistry) and to do i need a to do better at math. I understand most of the units taught I just make minor mistakes or forget when a test comes. i have gotten a tutor and she tells me that my technique is sound i just need to be more confident. Does anyone have any simple tips or tricks on how to be better at math?

@Sunny: I hope you find the advice you're looking for, and I'm sorry that MO isn't the appropriate place. @basic's answer below is horribly wrong, and you can see this from its vote score. I mention this only to emphasize that you should ignore @basic's "answer". Good luck! – Theo Johnson-Freyd Jan 16 2012 at 0:31
