Edit: Sorry everyone, I was convinced this is http://math.stackexchange.com for some reason.

Hello,

I am trying to find all real solutions to the following set of equations:

b(a-c)-ad=0

2ab+cb+ad-2cd=0

My algebra is a bit rusty, and I really have no idea where to begin (aside from maybe brute force). I would appreciate help with this.

Thanks in advance!

hi Josh. Since you mention that you've no idea where to begin, I'd suggest beginning at the FAQ of this website. – S. Sra Sep 2 2011 at 16:37
Oh, I'm very sorry. I thought this was math @ stack exchange. – josh Sep 2 2011 at 16:45
Also, "all real solutions" will most likely be read as something that contains non-integer solutions, which is inconsistent with the title. You might take more care in posting the question. Gerhard "Ask Me About System Design" Paseman, 2011.09.02 – Gerhard Paseman Sep 2 2011 at 16:50

I've reposted the problem (hopefully in the right place this time) here: math.stackexchange.com/questions/61438/… Again, very sorry. – josh Sep 2 2011 at 16:52
