x=-3:0.1:3;y=2/(1+exp(-x))

Why isn't the following scilab command giving any negative results. I was expecting to get the result y=2/(1+exp(-xi) where xi is in x and i is the index.

Doesn't the last sentence of your question contain the answer, considering that 2/(1+exp(-x)) is positive for all x? – Andreas Blass Aug 20 2011 at 18:53
