Hello, I am studying uwb localization, but i don't understand the mathematical basis behind it. For example, if the base station (known position) recieves a signal from a mobile station (unknown position) and it is possible to know the angle of arrival, the time of arrival and also the signal strenght, how can I know the distance between the base station and the mobile station? In line of sight obviously...

Thank you!

Unless I'm badly mistaken, this is a problem in trigonometry, and not of mathematical research interest. But this website is about research, so maybe math.stackexchange.com is a better place for the question. Although even there it would probably be helpful if you gave some indication of what uwb localization might be. – Gerry Myerson May 17 2012 at 23:21
