Recently I wrote an article in which I proved the following important facts.(1) For extremal inclusions of subfactors the principal graph is ergodic if and only if the dual graph is ergodic. (2) the subfactors the are resulted as limiting algebras of non-degenerate commuting squares have ergodic principal graphs. The referee rejected my article though to the counter example by U.Haagerup, but the professor denies the existence of such counter example, also I searched all over and never seen any counter examples . the proof of these claims are very short and easy. If any one knows of counter examples please let me know

This question should probably be rewritten. You want to know if there exists a counterexample to which statement? To spur you to write something better, I'm casting a vote to close as 'not a real question'. – Todd Trimble May 31 2011 at 17:03

I think that communicating with the referee via the editor is a more appropriate course of action than asking this forum. I am guessing that the referee is an expert in the field. Voting to close. – Igor Rivin May 31 2011 at 18:26

As other people have said this is not a professional way to handle this issue. I think it's in your interest to delete this question (for example, the referee would be rightfully annoyed to find this online). Write back to the editor and respectfully explain that you haven't been able to find Haagerup's counterexample in the literature (and that you tried asking Haagerup and he didn't recall it) and ask if he could contact the referee for a reference. – Noah Snyder May 31 2011 at 22:13

In particular, if I were writing the email to the editor I would try not to imply that the editor/referee are wrong on this point ("I couldn't find it" and "Haagerup didn't remember it" not "I don't think there is a counterexample.") Similarly, I would not ask them to reconsider their decision about publication, instead I would just say something like "it would help me fix the paper if I could work through the counterexample." – Noah Snyder May 31 2011 at 22:17
