Math in linguistics: Probably not a lot. Linguistics in math: I would guess close to zero. It would be better to ask this question to linguists. – Kevin Lin Nov 18 2009 at 23:11
Oh, I'm looking forward to linguaoverflow :) Maybe someknows. I'm sure there's a lot of math in linguistic. There is even a Math Linguistic department in MSU – valya Nov 18 2009 at 23:15
Please ask a more specific question. Closed. – Scott Morrison Nov 18 2009 at 23:18

Just for the record, there is a discipline known as mathematical linguistics, just like there is a discipline of mathematical physics. An interesting specific question about the discipline would be welcome. – Jason Dyer Nov 18 2009 at 23:26
Here is a relatively recent book on mathematical methods in linguistics: books.google.com/… – Konrad Swanepoel Nov 19 2009 at 12:20
