I would like to know if there are any method to divide a circle (a pizza) in three equal area parts (supposing you are able to divide it in two perfectly)

The practical aproach is to cut it aproximated in 3,

and to minimize error by sub-dividing every part in two, in as many portion as possible.

so when I get 16 bad cutted (instead of 15) the error is small

but diners complain about size ;)

$\cos(2\pi/3)=-1/2$ – Thierry Zell Mar 4 2011 at 20:00
and you can easily divide a circle in 6... – Willie Wong Mar 4 2011 at 20:06
@Thierry Zell, +1 let me see.. I find the centre, go in a coordenate direction to find the middle, then go perpendicular to reach de edge, and cut from there to the centre, repeat and ready, yours is a really short answer! – Hernán Eche Mar 4 2011 at 20:18
@Hernán: this is how my mom used to cut cakes when I was a kid, so I can't claim all the credit. But don't mess up finding the center, or the results are horribly off! – Thierry Zell Mar 4 2011 at 21:01
