cryptogram / cryptanalysis technique suggestion needed

The cryptogram deduced from other information follows:

wwes wiii
iiii niis iiii iiii niis iiii niis iiii iiis
wiie wnes wiie wnes wiie wnes wiie wnes wiie
iiii niis iiii niis iiii niis iiii niis iiii nnis iiii
wiie wwee wiie wwie wiie wiii
iiii niis iiii niis iiii niis iiii nnis nnii/wnii
wiie wwne/wine wiee wnes wiie wnes wiis/wiii
wiii iiii niii iiii niii

/ means one or the other of the two patterns should be used.

Note: Each of the 4 letter combos of these represents one letter. Presumbably, I am to use the 26 letters of the English alphabet, assuming numbers 0-9 are invalid. Counting, above there will be 58 total letters to be decrypted.

The repeated patterns are here. There would be a max of 15 it seems?
wwes
wiii
iiii
niis
iiis
wiie
wnes
nnis
wwee
wwie
nnii or wnii?
wwne or wine?
wiee
wiis or wiii?
niii

I don't need it solved necessary. Rather, I would just like a general approach or method to look up and understand how to approach this cryptogram. My code was derived from a visual representation - I believe there to be no errors or other information than what I have presented here.

Thank you for the help guys. This is actually a continuation of a previous post here. Hopefully all criteria for posts were followed. So, let me know what clarifications are needed or about any changes in my writing style I need to incorporate. Thanks.

I'm afraid questions about specific cryptograms aren't really appropriate for MathOverflow. You might try math.stackexchange.com – Ben Webster Sep 13 2010 at 17:33
