AP = (Grothendieck) approximation property. MAP = metric approximation theory. These are standard abbreviations in Banach space theory. It strikes me that this should not have been closed "for incomprehensibility" but because MO is not meant as a place for people to pose well known open problems unless they are after particular references or updates – Yemon Choi Jul 12 2010 at 18:00
