# Thematic Programs for 2010-2011?

I'm applying for jobs, and I am frustrated that I haven't yet found a nice 'master list' of thematic programs at various institutes in the coming year. I'm talking about semester-long or year-long programs in a topic, with the aim of assembling a bunch of young mathematicians in field for that length of time.

The ones I have found so far are:

And here are other 2011 programs:

I don't know if this is the appropriate sort of question; if not, I can delete it. Also, should this be communitywiki? I'm not clear on what that means. –  Greg Muller Oct 24 '09 at 5:24
I think this is absolutely appropriate -- certainly of interest to mathematicians! Community wiki means that it's easier to edit questions and answers (i.e. you need less reputation), and also that no one gains reputation from questions and answers. Any question that hopes to produce a "sorted list of answers" should generally by community wiki. Also, any "soft" questions should be community wiki, mostly so they don't look like cheap attempts to garner reputation. Use your own judgement on this one, it's not essential but might help producing better organised answers. –  Scott Morrison Oct 24 '09 at 7:03
My thought would be that this question would benefit especially from community work, e.g. I was just going to linkify it when I realized that I don't have enough reputation (I'm not used to it since I have enough reputation on StackOverflow). So if I was to post it, yes, I would make it a CW. –  Ilya Nikokoshev Oct 24 '09 at 9:57
The Fields program in Discrete Geometry and Applications is actually Fall 2011, not Spring 2011. Perhaps someone with more mana than me could correct the post. –  Hugh Thomas Oct 24 '09 at 13:33
A master list of thematic programs might be a good idea for a page on the Notable Math Wiki (notable.math.ucdavis.edu/wiki/Main_Page), alongside the existing Math Jobs Wiki that they host. –  Ari Oct 27 '09 at 2:10

I'd like to invite people to put all relevant information up on the Math Jobs Wiki. Any thematic program with visitor support and competitive applications can go there.

-
Where would it go on the wiki? –  Greg Muller Nov 3 '09 at 0:51
All of the thematic programs are at institutes, so what you want to do is put the announcements in the fellowships/institutes section of whatever country. Or create such a section if the country/region doesn't have one. –  Greg Kuperberg Nov 3 '09 at 5:42

By next year do you mean the next academic year? If not, there's Number Theory as Experimental and Applied Science at CRM in Montreal Jan-Apr 2010.

Also, July-December 2010 at the CMS is "Geometric, Combinatorial, and Computational Group Theory". –  Hugh Thomas Nov 2 '09 at 20:09
