Let $A \in \mathbb{C}^{n \times n}$ be an $n \times n$ matrix. Consider the rank-$1$ perturbation $A'$ of $A$ given by replacing a column $v$ of $A$ by $\alpha \cdot v$, where $\alpha \in [0, 1)$. Can one say anything about the spectrum and eigenspaces of $A'$ in relation to those of $A$?
