Why not to make a list of noted math events in 2012 ?

E.g. 15 December 2012 Museum of Math was opened in New-York (see also What would you want to see at the Museum of Mathematics? )

Mochizuki announced the proof of ABC conjecture. (see also Philosophy behind Mochizuki's work on the ABC conjecture )

I think Elsevier boycott should also be noted.

@Asaf Karagila: I hesitate a bit to take this to far off-topic, but AFAIK in Russia (for example) the situation is a bit different and so (locally) for Alexander Chervov the statement seems to make sense (see for example en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_worldwide under Russia). –  quid Jan 2 '13 at 11:25
