I want to learn more about orthogonal and lagrangian (or symplectic) grassmannians. What are good references?

What do you want to know about them? What point of view are you starting from? –  Alexander Woo Oct 29 '12 at 17:04

really not much.... of course I know the basic definitions. I am interested in group actions on these varieties and other (nilpotent?) orbits (secant or tangential varieties?) and how these grassmannians plug in the picture of group representations. also some info on the projective geometry would help. thank you for answering. –  IMeasy Oct 30 '12 at 10:16
