What is the sort of math/physics/theoretical CS background needed to approach this problem?</p> http://mathoverflow.net/questions/45106/quantum-pcp-theorem/45167#45167 Comment by Noah Rahman Noah Rahman 2010-11-07T17:21:34Z 2010-11-07T17:21:34Z Thanks, Peter, I guess my question should have been reworded as, given the the prevailing pessimism, why are people so optimistic about retracing Dinur's proof. Maybe because it's the only new work that's been done on the question? I don't know enough of the literature to be able to say so. (NB: It's nice to see a fellow Rudd make it big in the world) http://mathoverflow.net/questions/45106/quantum-pcp-theorem Comment by Noah Rahman Noah Rahman 2010-11-07T02:55:04Z 2010-11-07T02:55:04Z If I post it there, should I delete this?
