<p>What is known about monomorphisms in the following categories:</p> <ol> <li>Schemes</li> <li>Complex manifolds </li> <li>$C^\infty$--manifolds</li> </ol> <p>and any other kinds of geometric objects that you might think of.</p> <p>How do we choose a subobject to call it a submanifold (or a subscheme...)?
