This makes sense, at least when $D$ is real, since it is a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matrix_congruence" rel="nofollow">congruence</a>. "Conjugate" sounds more like $D^{-1}AD$ or $\overline{A}$ to me.</p>
